Robert S. Lobel, EA

Bob is the owner and sole proprietor of Lobel Accounting, a Babylon, New York practice specializing in income tax preparation, small-business accounting, and IRS representation. Over more than twenty-five years he has helped thousands of individuals, families, and small businesses work through the U.S. tax code — which is to say, thousands of specific situations rather than thousands of forms.

He graduated cum laude from Lynn University in 1993 and started work immediately after, learning under Donald A. Lobel, CPA. Their partnership ran twenty years. Both of them were involved in every client's needs, and the constant exchange of what each of them knew was a real advantage for the people they served. That structure — two people who both understood your file — set the expectation Bob still works to.

In 2014, Bob earned the Enrolled Agent designation from the Internal Revenue Service. The credential is federal, so his authority to represent taxpayers is not limited to New York; he has represented clients throughout the United States. His continuing tax education is not optional — it is a requirement of holding the designation, and it is what allows him to take on complex issues and disputes rather than referring them out.

Bob is a member of the Babylon Village Chamber of Commerce, and the office sits in The 1801 House at Argyle Square. Clients tend to be neighbors, the businesses on the same street, and the children of clients he has had for decades.
